1st Ranger Battalion was originally formed shortly after the United States' entry into World War II. Members from the unit were the first American soldiers to see combat in the European theater when they participated in the raid on Dieppe in France in 1942. 1st Ranger Battalion was sent to North Africa where they participated in the landings in Algeria and the fighting in Tunisia in 1943. Over the years 1st Ranger Battalion has taken part in various operations around the world and most recent being the Global War on Terror. Over the years while working with Rangers from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Ranger Battalions on my teams they all have asked me to design something with a old school look with a US Flag and modern day twist and what you see is what we all came up with and agreed upon, an orange diamond with the battalion number and the US Flag.
